SEND Code of Practice
Merton CCG is working in close partnership with Merton Council to improve services for Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Merton. Since the introduction of the SEND Code of Practice in 2014, Merton CCG has been committed to implementing the Code, and has been working continuously to improve the experience of children, young people, their carers and families.
We have worked with partners to provide improved information and communication for children, young people and parents about what support is available locally, called the Merton Local Offer. Here, you will find information on the following information:
- Information about Education, Health and Care Plans
- How to request an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan
- How Children and Young People with an existing Statement of Educational Needs are being transferred to EHC plans
- A list of local services that support Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. These include Social Care, Health, Employment and Training, Activities and Leisure, and Preparing for Adulthood
Merton CCG has regular engagement and listening events with local groups, and organisations to ensure the views of the local population are heard in the development of local services.
