Many thanks to everyone who joined us in our health hub tent at Mitcham Carnival on Saturday.
The Deputy Mayor of Merton Edward Foley visited the hub to find out more about health services and meet our partners in the local voluntary and community sector.
Face painting,a smoothie bike, One You health checks and SELDOC BMI checks drew in hundreds of local residents and families.
Merton's voluntary sector supported us with Age UK Merton, Alzheimer's Society, Healthwatch Merton, Positive Network Centre, the Westminster Drug Project and Diabetes UK sharing useful advice and information in the tent.
The Health services that exhibited alongside Merton CCG's Patient Engagement Team included Merton's Expert Patient Programme, the Falls Prevention Service, SELDOC, Merton Uplift, London Ambulance Service, Spectra, Imagine Independence together with Merton Council social services.
Dr Mohan Sekeram ,Clinical Lead for Social Prescribing and Dr Doug Hing, GP and Merton CCG Clinical Director, supported the event.
We also welcomed the chance to talk to residents about local health services giving them the chance to post their views on barriers to healthcare and possible solutions on a popular feedback wall.
